Helping Each Other Out
What's made the strongest impression on me during this crazy time is the willingness of people to help friends and strangers make it through ok. When the coronavirus swept across the globe it did so much more than make people sick and install fear about our physical well being. It's also practically shut down economies and forced people to consider desperate measures they never thought they would.
Stay at home orders in Napa Valley have caused most of our restaurants, resorts, spas and wineries to close their doors to the public. And as a result, many people are out of work and struggling to support their families. Our friends at Napa Valley Heritage Catering in Calistoga decided to help out by doing what they love, feeding people. That's when Free Family Meal Fridays was born and continues with the help of local businesses that reach out with sponsorship.
When I first heard about this I thought how cool it was that a small business was stepping up to help out their neighbors whatever way they could. I wanted to help so I reached out to my fellow makers at the Napa Valley Mercantile to see if we could kick it up a notch. What we've decided to do is donate 40% of all of our retail priced sales made through April 30, 2020. No discount code required. Just choose your favorite pieces from my collections and make a purchase. And if you are interested in some amazing Howell Mountain wines made by my friends Kara and Mike Dunn, visit Retro Cellars. Or treat yourself to a lovely wine tote made by my friend, Rachel Davies at Stellareese Collection. And feel great knowing you are helping us make a bigger impact for families in need.
